Since the establishment of Marc Thorpe’s studio, 3E Studios, in 2005 he has been working in New York producing residential and commercial architectural projects as well as an extensive body of work in the field of furniture design. Thorpe’s work can be defined as routed in function with a sensibility to character through detail. As a young practicing architect in New York City, he carries over his training to furniture design by exploring the impact a given program has on a products form in relation to its performance. This pluralistic approach to design gives Thorpe’s work relevance and inherent meaning.
